This week’s midweek training session may have been quieter in terms of numbers, with a few players away due to half term commitments, but it was significant in a much more meaningful way. It marked the final Thursday night session with our guest coaches, Eddie and Mason.

Over the past weeks, Eddie and Mason have been instrumental in supporting Katherine and Dan with delivering fun, focused, and development-driven training for the U9s. More than just helping with drills and skills, they’ve brought energy, enthusiasm, and relatability to the pitch—proving themselves as not only excellent young coaches, but powerful role models too.

Burnham has always prided itself on developing not just players, but people—and Eddie and Mason are shining examples of what the club stands for. Through their actions, they’ve shown our young players the value of commitment, respect, and the standards expected of all who wear the club colours.

As a token of appreciation, and for the first time in quite a while, Katherine took back the responsibility of selecting “Trainer of the Week” from the young coaches. In a fitting tribute, she awarded the title—and the trophy itself—to Eddie and Mason, along with a well-earned box of chocolates.
