Burnham on Crouch RUFC's School Liaison Officers, Hazel & Dave Gillett, with help from Paula Corrigan, Tammy Cooke, Laura Stacey, Andy & Nichola Hutcheon have had a few very busy weekends attending Southminster CofE Primary, Burnham Primary and St Mary’s Primary School's PTA Summer Fetes. The idea was for the many club members that attend the schools to showcase their rugby skills and to get involve and introduce the game of rugby to others that have never tried it before. At the stall children of all ages could have a go at practising their throwing and kicking skills over the posts while getting some tips from the club coaches. Coaching sessions involved ball handling, passing and tagging skills and then incorporated them into a small match at the end. All the children played fantastically and most importantly had a great deal of fun. A huge thank you goes to the school PTA’s for allowing us to attend.
